A Personal Story of Self-Trust
Happy February and Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the year of the earth pig, which signifies wealth, treasure and good fortune. (Yippee!)
Personally, I love having several new year’s dates to observe as it brings me back to “begin again” each time. And next month is another powerful reset with Persian New Year on the first day of spring.
Last month I held my 17th Speak Shine Sell Workshop with this fabulous group of soul-inspired entrepreneurs. I also asked you to share your word or theme for 2019, and I was dazzled by your responses! Here are YOUR words:

Here’s a personal share about how my 2019 theme of SELF-TRUST has been showing up so far:
One Saturday last month I woke up with the clarity that no longer will I allow money to be the primary measurement for how successful I am. Instead, I declared that my new currency is LOVE, which I measure by how much joy and lightness I feel each day, the quality of my conversations, the connections I make, how much fun I had, and how I feel in my body.
This doesn’t mean I ignore or go to sleep around my finances! I continue to mindfully track my numbers daily, set financial goals that are thrilling to me, and stay in a healthy, grounded relationship with money–as well as coach all my clients to do the same.
But what it does mean is that in choosing SELF-TRUST and being the presence of love in each moment, I’m allowing THAT to lead, not money. (Which I realize is counterintuitive to conventional wisdom about what it takes to run a profitable business.)
Here’s one way this is showing up: I now ask for guidance (and follow that guidance) on what to charge vs. charging what I SHOULD or what the experts say to do. In fact, I was having lunch with one of my favorite 7-figure mentors a few weeks ago, and she coached me to charge a certain amount for an upcoming program. I was open to her wisdom and gratefully took it in, AND I gave myself full permission to NOT follow her coaching advice, knowing that I can totally trust my own knowing. The interesting paradox here with my new measurement of success is that January happened to be my biggest revenue month in more than six months! ?
